So I'm 14 and deciding to tryout for my first ever travel team. I've only played rec and school ball in the past but many of my friends ask me to play for their teams. I'm a natural lefty and I would just like to know what to expect at tryouts. (By the way my school team went undefeated and I had 6 assists and almost many goals.)

Hello! I tried out (unsuccessfully) for a club team, which is much like a travel team, last spring/summer. We basically had a giant scrimmage. We were divided up into several teams and scrimmaged. Make sure to be active on the field in any position. Show that you are capable of playing any position. Make the coach want you to be on the team. Make the coach see you will be an asset to the team. Don’t be afraid to  call for a ball, take headers/throw ins if needed, and just have FUN playing. I wish you luck! (: Let me know how your try outs go?

No offence but it doesn't seem like you are that sucked into soccer like I know some girls your age are. I personally am on an Olympic development program team, D1 top 10 ranked team in the state, and a school team, and I feel kind of offended with some of your posts because you don't know what I really have to go through. Real soccer players don't complain about cheerleaders and girls that show up to practice in spandex. Just be thankful that you can have a life out of soccer.

I’m not offended, most of these aren’t my “problems”. They’re just submissions I made into a picture. & Yes, you’re right, I am lucky to have a life outside of soccer. I play on a Varsity team one 3 month season out of the entire year and our record is usually about 2-8-0 or worse. I wish I could have that kind of opportunity to be on an Olympic development program team, but I don’t have the skills, time, or energy. I have other things like college and grades to deal with. I must congratulate you on being on an Olympic development program though, I am quite jealous. I am by no means a professional or international player. I’m not the best by a long shot, nevertheless.. I am in love with soccer.

If this gets 30,000 notes by January 1st I won’t kill myself.

I dont know if this is real, but please reblog in case it is
